Description: Direct from Salvador, Bahia, Dany Maia brings the authentic sounds of Brazilian music to Australian audiences. Having begun her artistic career touring Brazil, Portugal and Spain as a professional dancer, Dany later decided to make singing her main focus. Dany has shared the stage with important Brazilian artists including Margareth Menezes and Timbalada, as well as performing at the famous Carnivals both in Sao Paulo and Salvador. A reflection of the cultural melting-pot in which Dany was born and raised, her music merges Brazilian dance rhythms with classic (Bossa Nova) songs and pop (Samba) tunes. A multi-talented performer with an irrepressible stage presence, Dany Maia embodies the true spirit of the ‘Baiana.’ Dany will be joined by Daniel Gassin (piano), Gareth Hill (basses) and Al McGrath Kerr (percussion and drums)
