Date Brothers & Daniel Weltlinger

Time: 9:00pm - 11:00pm

Description: Jazz guitar giant Ian Date (Ireland) along with his brother Nigel collectively known as the Date Brothers join forces with the legendary violinist Daniel Weltlinger (Lulo Reinhardt, Monsieur Camembert, Nadya and her 101 Candles Orkestra) and bassist extraordinaire Howard Cairns (Way Out West, Ross Hannaford) to create what is quite possibly one of the world’s finest Hot-Club quartets in the style of the great Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli. Widely regarded as amongst one of the top guitarists in the world Ian Date has performed with some of the world’s greatest musicians including Martin Taylor, Fapy Lafertin, Robin Nolan, James Morrison and the late great Tom Baker. His brother Nigel is also a top guitarist based in Sydney who regularly performs around the country with many different ensembles including Gadjo Guitars, Djangoholix, Straight Back Fellows, Fred, Eye of Chaos and Peppermint T playing a mixture of jazz, rock, pop, reggae, blues, latin, Jewish, Gypsy, world music fusion and original compositions. All you guitar and violin players out there do not miss this rare opportunity to see this great ensemble perform together!
